Violence against children and women; Impact and Solution

Child abuse and women are clinically defined as an act committed by one individual against another that results in physical and/or mental disorders. But save the author, the problem of violence in this case is not only interpreted as a
actions that cause physical and mental disorders but also result in social disorders, because violence is not only in emotional, sexual and physical form but also in economic terms, such as being forced to become prostitutes, maids, buskers and so on. Likewise, the perpetrator is not only done by the closest people in the family (KDRT / domestic violence) but also done by outsiders, with
In other words, not only violence but has entered crime and the mode is growing.

As the end of the first quarter of 2007, there are cases with high levels of extremity, namely a number of cases of child murder by their own biological mothers. In a recent case, in March 2008, a mother killed babies and toddlers by plunging them into a bathtub. New mode to watch out for, cases of child trafficking for sale of organs. According to reports at a meeting in Australia, it is suspected that there are children from Indonesia who are victims of child trafficking for the sake of selling their organs. Case data reported to the police, every year there are about 450 cases of violence in children and women. As many as 45 percent of the number of cases, is the child of the victim (kompas, 14/04/2008). From this report the mode of human trafficking (human trafficking) has changed. Where initially human trafficking only in terms of prostitution and labor, but lately has entered into the organ trade, and the author believes that this mode does not only occur in children but also in women.

Factors that cause violence in children and women, in general, are caused by a theory known to be related to family stress. Stress in the family can come from children, parents (husband or wife), or certain situations. Stress comes from children such as children with physical, mental, and behavioral conditions that look different from children in general. Infants and toddlers, as well as children with chronic or chronic diseases are also one of the causes of stress. Stress comes from a husband or wife
For example, with mental disorders (psychosis or neurosa), parents as victims of violence in the past, parents are too professional with expectations in children too high, parents who are accustomed to discipline. Stress comes from certain situations such as being exposed to husband / wife exposed to layoffs (job cuts) or unemployment, moving neighborhoods, and families often fight.

But of course the theory only surrounds domestic violence. Other major causes are, poverty, problems of social relations either family or community, deviation of social behavior (psychosocial problems). Weak primary social control of society and law and the influence of socio-cultural values in certain social environments. But for the author the main cause of this problem is the loss of religious values (especially Islam), because of course only with religion that can regulate social problems based on individual awareness.

Among the effects of violence on children and women is the bad stigma attached to the victim including, First, Internal Stigma that is, the tendency of the victim to blame themselves, close themselves, punish themselves, consider himself a disgrace, loss of confidence, and especially is trauma so that just like the fight no longer wants to show after he traumatized receiving violence from her husband. Second, External Stigma is, the tendency of the community to blame victims, information media without empathy to report cases experienced by victims openly and ignore the right to privacy of victims. In addition to the bad stigma attached to victims, crimes against children and women can also destroy the ethical and social values as well as the adverse effects of human trafficking.

To prevent and stop violence against children and women, some
Approaches include, the individual approach, namely by increasing the understanding of religion, because of course a person who has a strong understanding of religion (especially Islam) will be more rigid to face situations that are a factor of violence. Moreover, Islam has taught the rules of life in the household, either attitude to the wife or to children and also teaches good social interaction. Islam strongly condemns all forms of violence, Islam allows divorce if there is domestic violence as the hadith of Aisha RA says, that Habibah bint Sahl, wife of Thabit bin Qais was beaten by her husband to bruises. The next morning Habibah reported her husband's violent actions to the Prophet (peace be upon him). He said, "Take some of his wealth and divorce him!" Thabit asked, "Is it the solution of the Prophet?" The Prophet replied, "Yes, that's right." Thabit said, "I have given him twice as much, and both are in his hands." The Prophet said, "Take both parts, and divorce them!" Then Thabit carried out the order. (HR. Imam Abu Dawud).

Social approaches include community participation approaches in reporting and alerting any crime, especially human trafficking. The medical approach, to provide services and care either psychologically or psychiatrically, also provides counseling to parents on how to care for children properly and correctly. And lastly, the legal approach, of course, is responsible for this problem is the government to always seek and respond swiftly to any report or discovery of cases of violence and crime and punish them with the provisions of applicable law.
